The Centre was started in 2006 by Reiki Master Allan Karsten, as a Healing Centre with Usui Reiki as the main healing modality in use. Since then two other healing modalities have been added, that of Indian Head Massage and also Body Balance Activation Technique. Usui Reiki is also taught to students at the Centre.
Grosvenor Energy Centre is modelled on the very successful Energy Centre run by Reiki Master Tracy White, in Hillcrest, and the Usui Reiki course taught at Grosvenor Energy Centre is the same as that taught at the Energy Centre.

I was diagnosed with a grapefruit-sized benign uterine fibroid tumour. I believe I grew it with 12 months of drowning in rage, hurt and resentment. My doctor decided to treat me with a 12-week dose hormone implant to cut off the blood supply to the fibroid, and then to schedule surgery to remove it.
I scheduled once a week Body Balance Activation sessions with Allan Karsten for the 12 weeks. At each session the same problem areas kept coming up. Allan told me about Louise Hay’s books that link problem areas with emotional problems. My problem areas of heart, lungs, intestine, bladder and head were linked to fear of letting go and emotional wounds that were not allowed to heal. Louise Hay blames fibroids on nursing old hurts. So the solution to my problems became obvious. I had to let go of the past.
To help me, Allan gave me a smoky quartz to carry with me, as it:
1. Treats tumours
2. Forms a barrier against negative energy
3. Deals with anger and resentment
4. Dissolves emotional and mental blockages
He advised me to work on staying positive, using mood lifting music, photos and activities. He gave me affirmations to use, and recommended that I avoid wearing red and green for the duration of my treatment.
My 12 BBA sessions left me calmer, happier, buzzing with energy and in charge of my emotions, my mind and my life. The cherry on top was that at my pre-op check up, my fibroid had shrunk to 50% of its original size. My surgery was successful and I am on the road to recovery. It is now a year since my surgery. The hormone implant that stopped my menstrual cycle to cut off blood supply to the fibroid seemed to have brought on menopause. My menstrual cycle did not return after the surgery.
Allan introduced me to the Body Balance Activation Technique Level IV with 72 keys. I bought the cards and used them at home in the 8 months after my surgery. When I used them, I gave the intent to have a normal menstrual cycle. My husband and I also took turns to use the cards with the intent for us to have a baby. The fractal image was dark and asymmetrical with sharp angles, and made both of us uncomfortable. It kept showing up over the 8 months.
Then my menstual cycle returned!
2 months later, I was pregnant! I've made it through my first trimester safely and we are looking forward to the birth of our first child in December. I am happy and healthy, and very grateful to Allan and my BBA sessions. SN July 2010

I was diagnosed with breast cancer, which then spread to my spine. I have been having cancer treatment for approximately 9 years now. I also had a fall 5 years ago, which left my right arm and hand virtually paralyzed with no movement in my fingers, hand and arm. Then to make things worse, 2 years ago I developed a drop foot in my left foot, which means that I can only get around by using a cane for support. I have been having physiotherapy to my arm since the fall and for my foot since it dropped. The cancer treatment has been very severe and I have also had chemotherapy. For the last 18 months, despite my medication, my cancer markers have been climbing. At the end of May I started having a weekly session of Usui Reiki, which is helping a great deal. The most noticeable thing was that the swelling around my ankle reduced substantially. Then after my blood test after 4 Reiki sessions my cancer marker had dropped 14 points and then after the next test it dropped another 3 points. Another big change I noticed was that due to the medication I had a lot of reflux in my throat and found it difficult to swallow my food and since Reiki the reflux has cleared up and does not worry me any more. Also, my eyes were particularly troublesome with sticky muck around them, especially in the mornings when I woke up, it would be difficult to open my eyes, but now since the Reiki sessions, my eyes are clear and no more stickiness around my eyes. I truly believe that Reiki has brought about a wonderful improvement in my health situation and I look forward to continued improvements.

Body Balance Activation Technique and Usui Reiki Centre

Grosvenor Energy Centre is a Centre that works with the Human Energy Field and uses the Body Balance Activation Technique sessions for healing and also provides Reiki treatments to those in need of healing. Please note that Reiki is not a religion, nor a spiritual belief system, but a method of healing. Reiki does not involve massage nor do any clothes need to be removed when receiving a treatment!
Reiki (pronounced Rei-Ki) is a method of natural healing based on the application of Universal Life Force Energy, which refers to the energy that flows through all living things.
Students that are taught to become Usui Reiki practitioners will have received a number of Reiki attunements. These are procedures which greatly increase the amount of life force energy to their energetic systems. This energy cleanses and balances the body which brings about a sense of well being and peace.
People from all walks of life can learn to use Reiki and can benefit from its amazing healing powers. It can be used on a daily basis to give oneself self healing.
The Centre is run by Reiki Master Allan Karsten to provide Usui Reiki healing and teaching opportunities in the Southern Durban community and is based on the Energy Centre run by Reiki Master Tracy White in Hillcrest. Grosvenor Energy Centre teaches the 12 week Usui Reiki Course developed by Tracy White.
Allan Karsten is a member of the Reiki Masters Association (http://www.reikihealing.co.za/) and is also an Accredited Facilitator of the Body Balance Activation Technique, Level 1, 2, 4 and 5. The Body Balance Activation Technique is an energy-healing system that takes the energy deeper than your normal healing session, working to access memories stored deep within our body's cellular and molecular structures in order to release them and make way for our body to heal at the level of our DNA. It ensures the focused mental participation of both the facilitator and their client towards a singular aim. It uses a system which allows the body to choose a pathway into itself, to directly access mental and emotional charges of energy which may be prohibiting healthy functioning of a particluar area.

Usui Reiki One, Two and Advanced (Three A). During the course we will cover the following: Self empowerment, Discovering your true potential, Causes of illness, Energy anatomy, Healing techniques, Learning to see auras, Working with the Human Energy Field, Usui Reiki One, Two and Advanced, Hand positions for self healing and for healing others, Energy surgery, Intuitive healing, Attunements for all levels, also included are all your manuals. Classes are small, consisting of up to 6 students and are run once a week for 12 weeks, either mornings from 9.00am to 12.00 noon, or evenings from 6.00pm to 9.00pm.

Westville Fair
